Apple iPad is one of its kind with all its features like spiff, simplicity, functionality and above all the perfect flawless screen resolution. It comes with many pre-installed wallpapers that judging by the Apple standard, do iPad and its users justice. But for us mere humans, change is a necessary impulse, regardless of the beauty we are already “stuck with”. Apple has been humble enough to allow users to change wallpapers through a simple procedure. As such, there are three main methods you can dispense to change the wallpaper on your iPad and in this post we will guide you through all of them.
Change Wallpaper from Settings Menu
Changing wallpaper using settings menu is universally applicable on iPad and is the easiest way around. You can add wallpapers that are pre-stored on iPad or you can choose any wallpaper of your choice after syncing them to your iPad through iTunes. So without further ado, lets move on to the step by step guide to change wallpaper on an iPad:
Step 1. Unlock your iPad, on your Homescreen Tap on Settings icon located near the bottom right corner of Dashboard or you can navigate to it from among the various app icons on your Homescreen.
Step 2. Tap on “Brightness and Wallpaper” button which is usually 5th option on the left hand list. Now in the Wallpaper section that now shows on the right screen, tap on Preview Wallpapers.
Step 3. From the various source options that show up, click on Wallpaper, if you want to access wallpapers from Apple’s Wallpaper Collection. Here, you can alternatively apply photos from your iPad camera or synced Photos stored on your iPad as wallpaper by using options “Camera roll” or “Photo stream” respectively.
Step 4. Once, you have selected the desired Wallpaper for your iPad, there is one choice to make before finally changing your iPad’s wallpaper. You can either select the desired image as wallpaper behind icons on Homescreen, or Lockscreen( Screen that shows up once your iPad is locked out of activity). We prefer, you take the last option that reads “Set Both” to use your desired wallpaper almost all over on iPad.
Step 5. After you click on “Set Lock Screen”, “Set Homescreen ” or “Set Both” you will have successfully changed Wallpaper on iPad.
Note: When you select PhotoStream in Step 3 you will see an extra step before setting your desired image as wallpaper. In this step, all you have to do is select the boundaries and resize the image in accordance with iPad’s allowable size limits. You can then follow similar steps as above to change wallpaper on iPad.
Change Wallpaper Without using Settings Menu
This is even easier than the first method and can be used to set any image/photo visible in your iPad’s photo gallery as wallpaper. This method can also be used to easily set any web image as your default wallpaper after following few simple steps we have covered in the later section of this post.
Step 1. Navigate to your iPad’s Gallery App icon on Homescreen and locate the photo you want to keep as wallpaper.
Step 2. Tap/ hold or just tap on the photo until an option saying “Use As Wallpaper” drops down.
Step 3. Next, you can resize, rotate or re-arrange the selected photo according to your personal preferences by using iPad’s in-built gestures like Pinch to zoom, Pan and more. A pinch means, putting your fingers simultaneously on screen and then bringing them together or far from each other to zoom-in or out respectively.
Step 5. Once, you are satisfied with all the aspects of your image, tap on ‘Set as Wallpaper’.
Step 6. You can then choose from three options “Set Lock Screen”, “Set Homescreen ” or “Set Both” and voila! it’s done.
Use a Web Image as an iPad Wallpaper
Most people find amazing images and artworks on web while browsing via iPad and it would hurt if there wasn’t an option to use these images as wallpaper. In this last section, we will show you how to save an image from web and then use it as wallpaper on your iPad.
Step 1. Connect to the internet and use any of the iPad browser like Safari to browse and navigate to the image you wan to set as a wallpaper.
Step 2. Once, you have located your target, Tap on the full size of that image until a dialogue box reading “Save Image” pops up.
Step 3. Tap on the ‘Save Image’ option and it will be automatically saved in your iPad’s Photo Gallery.
